Welcome back. An injury can put any wrestler on the sidelines for a long time and there is little that can be done other than wait on them to get ready to return. Those returns can be a big deal though as you will see a prominent name come back for a variety of reasons. That was the case this weekend as a former World Champion came back with a major point to prove.

Adam Cole returned to AEW this weekend after the opening match of Double Or Nothing. However, his former partner Maxwell Jacob Friedman interrupted Cole and laid him out with a brainbuster. Friedman talked about how he was done with Cole’s Devil persona and talked about how he was done being a nice guy. He also suggested that he had signed a new deal with the company, showing an AEW tattoo on the back of his leg. Friedman has been out of action since December 2023 and it is not clear when he will be allowed to return to the ring.

It was special. Check out the return plus what Friedman has done in AEW:

Opinion: This is something that had to happen at some point and it is nice to have Friedman back so soon. He is one of the biggest stars that AEW has ever had and having him sit on the sidelines even longer would have been terrible. I’m not sure when he is going to be able to get back in the ring but having him back to do anything is certainly better than nothing.

What did you think of the return? What is next for Friedman in AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
