Vince McMahon and WWE have filed to move the Janel Grant lawsuit to arbitration.

In January 2024, Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE, alleging that she was the victim of physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault, and trafficking at WWE. Grant alleged that she was under an NDA, but McMahon stopped paying before he met the $3 million that was the amount stated in the agreement. McMahon denied the allegations, but he is under investigation for the allegations. The lawsuit has paused for six months due to the federal investigation, but the stay has been lifted.

In an update, McMahon and WWE have filed to move the lawsuit to arbitration. McMahon’s attorneys claim that Grant breached the agreement “by wrongfully disclosing both the existence of the Settlement Agreement and their relationship”, so he was within his contractual rights to withhold further payment. McMahon’s attorneys also argue that Grant violated the arbitration provision in the agreement and “filed a false and defamatory public lawsuit.” They also wrote that the agreement stipulated that any dispute stemming from it would be arbitrated.

The motion states that McMahon “vehemently and categorically denies all allegations” of wrongdoing that are outlined in the complaint. McMahon’s attorneys also reiterate that they want the case to go to arbitration. Due to the motion, Grant’s attorneys must respond by January 13. (H/t Fightful)
