Vitaliy Mykolenko was left with a bloodied head after colliding with Everton teammate James Tarkowski against Aston Villa.

During the second-half at Goodison Park, the Toffees defenders were involved in a nasty coming together.

Both players were left lying on the pitch and had to receive treatment from medical staff, with Mykolenko far from unscathed.

The Ukrainian could be seen with blood across the top of his left eye and also on the right side of his head.

Everton were temporarily down to ten men as Mykolenko continued to be tended to despite being able to get back up onto his feet.

He eventually made his way back onto the pitch, donning a bandage around his head similar to Terry Butcher against Sweden in 1989.

It was the second time during the game that Tarkowski went down injured following an incident in the second half that also left him bloodied.
