More Details About “Hazy” Incident

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, the incident happened on Monday, February 24. The outlet shared video footage showing low visibility inside the cabin, including the plane’s walkway. It’s unclear at this time if the haze was smoke.

The Delta pilots turned the Boeing 717 plane around while following standard emergency procedures, including letting air traffic control know what was going on. After landing back at the Atlanta airport, passengers were reportedly de-planed using emergency slides. The Flight Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating, but Fox 5 reports that the plane involved got its flying papers in September 1999.

Early information says that there were 94 passengers on board, three flight attendants and two pilots. Delta moved swiftly to get passengers ground transportation and rebooked flights.

“Nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and people, and we apologize to our customers for the experience,” a Delta spokesperson reportedly stated on Monday.

Delta, What’s Going On?!

It’s been a week since another Delta Air Lines plane had a miraculous crash-landing in Toronto. Footage of the scene went viral all last week amid the ongoing investigation.  Also, on a Monday, the Delta aircraft used by Endeavor Air burst into isolated flames after landing on a snowy runway and flipping on its top. None of the passengers or crew on board passed away in the incident, but at least 20 people suffered injuries.

A recent report from NBC News reveals that two customers from that crash-landed flight are now suing the airlines.
