Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season and West Ham are keen on him.

According to Sportslens, the 32-year-old striker is reportedly a target for West Ham United and it remains to be seen whether the Hammers come forward with an offer to sign him in the summer.

The report states that the striker was valued at £18 million during the January transfer window and the Hammers will probably hope to sign him for a more reasonable price, given his age and injury issues.

Wilson is a proven goal scorer in the Premier League, but he can be quite unreliable in terms of availability. It will be interesting to see if he can get over his injury problems and help Newcastle finish the season strongly.

Callum Wilson could transform West Ham

Meanwhile, West Ham are in desperate need of a reliable goalscorer. Michail Antonio has been quite mediocre this season and Danny Ings has had his fair share of injury problems. Signing a reliable goalscorer could make a huge difference for the Hammers in the final third and Wilson would be a quality addition in the short term. If he is available for a reasonable price in the summer, he should prove to be a solid acquisition.

The 32-year-old will want to play regularly at a high level and West Ham might be able to provide him with that platform. They are currently competing in the Europa League and it remains to be seen whether they can secure European qualification for the next season.
