Adam Wharton has revealed that Prince William spoke to the England team immediately after the draw against Denmark at Euro 2024.

Wharton was responsible for speaking with the media for England ahead of the final Euro 2024 group match and said Prince William made a surprise visit after the 1-1 draw with Denmark. The Crystal Palace midfielder said he gave a positive pep talk and reminded the players that dropped points didn’t matter too much.

“He was just trying to keep us all in a positive frame of mind.” He said it wasn’t the end of the world. We said to ourselves: ‘We’re still top of the group, we didn’t lose, we got a draw, we just need to think about this game, see how we can improve and look forward to the next game’ . That’s all you can do in a football tournament. »

The English have their destiny in their hands

Prince William also made an appearance at St. George’s Park before the England team flew to Germany. He has been one of the team’s main motivational figures, as the Three Lions look to take a step further from their appearance in the Euro 2020 final.

Much-criticised England will conclude their group stage campaign on Tuesday evening against Slovenia. Gareth Southgate’s men have their destiny in their hands and know that a victory would allow them to reach first place before the knockout stages.
