Social activist Aisha Yesufu criticized popular crossdresser Bobrisky for pleading guilty to the charge of naira mutilation, following a six-month sentence handed down by Justice Abimbola Awogboro on Friday without the option of a fine.
Bobrisky had earlier pleaded guilty to a four-count charge of naira abuse brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on April 5.
In a write-up on X, Aisha questioned, “Who advised him to plead guilty?” and raised concerns about the selective prosecution of such cases. She remarked, “How does spraying of money equate to mutilating money? If it is and a crime why is it selectively used?”
She further questioned the equivalence between mutilation and spraying money, highlighting the disparity in treatment compared to other instances where money is sprayed.
Aisha emphasized the need for fair and unbiased prosecution based on actual crimes committed rather than moral judgments.
