Who is Dave Grohl’s wife? Meet Jordyn Blum amid the rocker’s cheating scandal

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl shocked fans on Sept. 10 when he revealed that he welcomed a child outside of his marriage.

“I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he wrote in his Instagram statement.

He also confirmed he would be “loving and supportive” of his new baby daughter.

Grohl and his wife, Jordyn Blum, tied the knot in their home in Los Angeles on Aug. 2, 2003, and share three daughters: Violet, Harper and Ophelia.

Blum has remained out of the spotlight and lives a private life, though the musician has shared some tidbits about their love over the years.

She is a former model

Blum worked as a model as a teenager and once appeared on the cover of Teen.

She told the publication one of her favorite bands was Nirvana, for whom Grohl was the drummer between 1990 and 1994.

When she met Grohl in 2001, she was a producer at MTV.

She worked for the Foo Fighters

Blum has worked with the Foo Fighters both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

She served as the director for the band’s 2002 music video for “Walking a Line” and appeared in the video for “White Limo,” which is from the Foo Fighters’ 2011 album, “Wasting Light.”

Unsurprisingly, she also served as a muse for several of the rock band’s songs, including “Statues” and “Burn Away.”

“That song is about my wife and me. To me there’s nothing more beautiful than seeing the headstones of a husband and wife side by side in a graveyard,” Grohl told GQ about “Statues” in 2008.

In a 2006 chat with AV Club, he described “Burn Away” as a “romantic … prom ballad” written about his love with Blum.

She was ghosted by Grohl

It wasn’t exactly love at first sight for Grohl and Blum. In fact, the rocker admitted to ghosting her for several months when they first started dating.

“When I first met my wife, we went out on a few dates and I decided that I wasn’t ready for a serious relationship, so I just stopped calling,” he told Elle in 2007.

“After three months, I had a revelation and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again.'”

She has made public appearances with Grohl

Though she prefers to stay out of the limelight, Blum has attended major events by her husband’s side.

In July 2024, the couple attended the Wimbledon tennis tournament in London.

Blum also walked the red carpet at the 2023 Grammys with Grohl and their three daughters.

She helps Grohl stay grounded

The “Pretender” hitmaker has praised his family over the years as a force that keeps him grounded.

“I wouldn’t be able to [tour] if I didn’t have my feet planted firmly on the ground. So Jordyn and Violet are anchors that keep me from completely disappearing,” he told the Guardian in 2007.
