Wrexham already completed a double swoop earlier in the morning on deadline day as they landed Jack Marriott from League One Fleetwood and Luke Bolton from League Two rivals Salford.

On their radar still is Rotherham midfielder Jamie Lindsay, who would likely cost a club record fee.

It has been reported that the Welsh club, who are owned by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have already tabled a six-figure offer.

Daily Mail journalist Nathan Salt reports that the two clubs are not aligned on price, but are getting close.

The club's current transfer record stands at £300,000, that they paid for Ollie Palmer in 2022.

Wrexham have form for trying to complete a record signing on deadline day.

They attempted to sign Luke Armstrong from Harrogate on deadline day in the summer, but the relevant paperwork was not completed before the 11pm deadline.

Wrexham are currently second in League Two and are five points behind leaders Stockport, but have a game in hand.
