Wrexham star Elliot Lee has released some shocking photos from a car accident that thankfully left him unscathed.

The midfielder was hospitalised on February 11 after a 1-0 win over Bolton, with the Welsh side announcing that he had sustained ‘no major injuries’.

Lee has now shown just how lucky he was, with some terrifying images of his crumpled Range Rover Sport posted on Instagram.

In four photos he showed the front of the vehicle destroyed and planted into a barrier, and added some words of thanks.

“Last Tuesday night I found out just how fragile life is and in the blink of an eye,” he wrote to his 50,000 followers.

“Through no fault of your own, it has the potential to change drastically. Thankfully I had someone looking over me, but I’m well aware of how different the outcome could’ve been.

“It has been overwhelming to see how much people care and the love and support I have around me with my family and friends. It has been a tough week, but I’m feeling very lucky and very grateful.

“Thank you to the emergency services for all their help and for all the kind messages I have received, it means a lot. And lastly a huge thank you to @kevmulholland @adermmm and my partner for rushing to my aid and spending all night in the hospital with me.

“Hoping to be back on the pitch asap.”

At the time of the accident, local media reported that it was a two-car collision which occurred while Lee was travelling home from the win over Bolton.

The 30-year-old son of ex-Newcastle player Rob Lee has been integral for Wrexham since joining in 2022, and is their most productive player this season with seven goals and four assists in 28 games.

Wrexham had earlier confirmed the news of the accident in a statement which read: "Wrexham AFC can confirm that last night, after the Vertu Trophy match against Bolton Wanderers, a first-team player (Elliot Lee) was involved in a road traffic incident when returning home.

"The incident involved one other car and resulted in the drivers of both cars being taken to hospital.

"Emergency services were quickly on the scene and the club would like to thank them for their prompt response and action.

"The player suffered no major injuries, while the driver of the other vehicle is being treated for their injuries.

"The club will be making no further comment at this stage."

Wrexham will face Peterborough in the semi-finals of the EFL Trophy, while they’re still seeking three-straight promotions as they sit third in League One.
