The WWE 2K franchise will make its long-awaited return to Nintendo consoles with the upcoming release of the Switch 2.

This morning was a Nintendo Direct event to officially reveal the Switch 2 release date and several games coming to the new console.

During the presentation, Lynell Jinks and Ben Bishop of 2K made the official announcement that both WWE 2K and NBA 2K would be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2.

Perhaps the most intriguing part of this reveal is that neither game was given a year alongside the title, hinting at the fact that NBA and WWE 2K25 might not appear on the Switch 2 and it will be for their upcoming 2K26 versions instead. But this has yet to be confirmed.

The WWE 2K franchise has been long absent from Nintendo consoles. The last game to release on the Switch was WWE 2K18. This version of the game was plagued with multiple issues, which halted future titles from being released on the platform.

Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled to release on June 5, with pre-orders for the console beginning April 9.

Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information on WWE 2K’s return to Nintendo as it becomes available.
