WWE SmackDown Viewership Increases On 5/17, Demo Drops

WWE SmackDown‘s viewership increased on May 17.

According to Wrestlenomics via Programming Insider, 2.186 million viewers watched the show on Friday night. This number is up from last week, when 2.128 million viewers tuned in.

In the 18 to 49 demographic, SmackDown scored a 0.59 rating. This marks a drop from last week (0.62 rating).

What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?

This week’s show kicked off with Bianca Belair defeating Tiffany Stratton to advance to the next round of the 2024 Queen of the Ring tournament.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis hosted a contract signing between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and United States Champion Logan Paul. The two men will face each other at King and Queen of the Ring later this month. The United States Championship will no longer be on the line.

Tama Tonga was also in action and picked up a big win over LA Knight to advance in the King of the Ring tournament. LA Knight and Carmelo Hayes got into it backstage following his loss.

The main event of the show saw Randy Orton defeat Carmelo Hayes to advance to the next round of the 2024 Men’s King of the Ring tournament.
