Logan Paul signed the contract, so he will officially defend the WWE United States Championship against LA Knight at WWE SummerSlam.
In recent weeks, WWE United States Champion Logan Paul has avoided LA Knight and turned down his challenge to a match at WWE SummerSlam. Knight pinned Paul in a Triple Threat Money in the Bank qualifying match, and he used this momentum to get a title shot. On the July 12th episode of WWE SmackDown, Knight stated that he had a contract for a title match with Paul at WWE SummerSlam.
Knight and Paul came to the ring on the July 19th episode of WWE SmackDown. They went back and forth as they took shots at each other. Paul said that Knight was pretending to be The Rock, while Knight said “The Maverick” was a fraud. Paul signed the contract and tried to attack Knight from behind. Knight gained the upper hand and went for the Blunt Force Trauma, but Paul escaped.
WWE SummerSlam will mark the first time that Paul will defend the title since WWE WrestleMania 40, where he beat Kevin Owens and Randy Orton.
