Xia Brookside Says IYO SKY Match Includes Everything, Captures Who She Is In The Ring

WrestleZone recently spoke with Xia Brookside, who looked back on her match against Io Shirai (IYO SKY) in WWE. The bout took place in the opening round of the 2018 Mae Young Classic, and Xia says it has a bit of everything she’s about.

“I would say my debut at the Mae Young Classic against Io Shirai. It’s a very short match, but I feel like it really captures who Xia Brookside is in the ring. The intensity, the strength, the striking. It includes everything,” Brookside explained.

“I think it included all of that because I got to wrestle with Io in Japan and train with her. So it was just the all in, ‘let’s go’ kind of intensity. When I’m feeling down about myself, or if I need a pick me up,” she continued, “that’s a match that I go back and watch to go, ‘No, that’s who I am. That’s the energy that I bring. And that’s why I wrestle.’”
