You In? WWE Executive Speaks On Possible Supershow Card With AEW

It’s not their thing. WWE has been the dominant force in wrestling for a very long time now and they have have almost no competition for decades. That seemed to change, at least somewhat, about five years ago with the debut of AEW. The new promotion offered fans a brand new place for talented wrestlers to showcase themselves, but that does not mean WWE sees them the same way.

WWE Executive Vice President Of Talent Relations Chris Legentil appeared on the SI Media Podcast this week, where he said there was no interesting in a supershow card between WWE and AEW. Legentil made it clear that he was in no way trying to fire a shot at AEW and said there was a “variety of excellent talent that don’t currently reside in WWE” but there was no interest in such a show. WWE has been working with TNA wrestling, though there has been no mention of a co-branded show between the two companies.

Opinion: At the end of the day, there is rather little that can be gained from WWE in this spot. They can work with anyone they want and already have more talent than they know what to do with o their own roster. While a crossover show sounds rather interesting and a fun idea for fans, it doesn’t make a ton of sense for WWE and Legentil turned own the idea in as polite of a way as possible.
