Zelina Vega made her debut in 2017 as the manager of Andrade El Idolo. Over the years, Vega has upped her game and proved her skills inside the squared circle. Despite her success in WWE, she was recently snubbed from the Women’s Elimination Chamber. However, she’s not letting that setback lower her ambitions for 2024.
During the February 19 episode of WWE Raw, Vega competed in a Women’s Last-Chance Battle Royal. She was ultimately eliminated by Elektra Lopez, who was later eliminated by Michin. Following the match, the tensions boiled over as Vega and Elektra continued feuding backstage.
Soon after in a WWE digital exclusive Vega expressed her frustrations with how things turned out and revealed her goals for 2024. She vowed to stop playing second fiddle for anyone and claim championship glory. She added that her immediate goal is to find Elektra and exact her revenge.
“I don’t think anybody can imagine… not many people know what it’s like to be having the title within your grasp.
“I’ve been chasing this since Backlash, now Rhea gets to go along to Australia and have exactly what I had in Puerto Rico.
“She gets to have that love and be the champion and that’s great except I’m here, getting left behind, because I’m here trying to get my hands on Zelina Vega Lite, Zelina Vega 2.0.
“This is bigger than Elektra. This is all Santos’ fault. Realistically, what did he do? He found… somebody to try to equalize me because I wouldn’t feed his delusions?
“I’m done with playing second best or being in people’s shadows. I’m done with that. They get to be on to Elimination Chamber and go to WrestleMania and have these amazing moments and I get stuck behind.
“Well, I’m not going to let that happen anymore. When I tell you something in me recently has broken, I’m not saying that to scare anybody, I’m not saying that as a threat.
“I’m telling you this is what’s going to happen and it’s a warning to anybody who gets in my way.
“Whoever walks out of WrestleMania (as) the champion, that is who I’m setting my sights on and that is exactly who I am gunning for to take that title.
“I don’t care if I’m on Raw or SmackDown, I will make sure that at some point I am standing there as champion and I don’t care how I have to do it.
“But, first things first, I’m going to find Elektra and I don’t care if I have to rip this arena apart to find her.”
Meanwhile, at the WWE Elimination Chamber, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Tiffany Stratton, Naomi, and Raquel Rodriguez will square of in the elimination chamber match. The winner will go on to compete in WrestleMania 40 for a chance to challenge the WWE Women’s World Champion. Stay tuned to Ringside News for more!
