Manchester United will prioritise a number of areas this summer, with centre-back and midfield being two areas in desperate need of attention in the transfer window.
Partly due to a generation shift but also the lack of quality throughout the squad, with one or two injuries immediately exposing United’s weakness.
Signing a right-sided winger may also be high on the club’s list of priorities, as there are question marks over all of United’s natural options there.
Mason Greenwood will leave the club and Jadon Sancho is highly likely to do the same, with Antony struggling to make a name for himself two years into his Old Trafford tenure.
That has opened the door for reinforcements and Michael Olise, who ended the Premier League season in spectacular form, has emerged as a target for the Reds.
The Frenchman, formerly at Chelsea and Reading, is one of the Premier League’s hottest prospects and now, it is being reported that he would be keen on making the move to Old Trafford.
That’s according to insider Ben Jacobs, who told GiveMeSport: “It’s quite a fluid situation for Manchester United, because they don’t really know where to attack first until the outgoings present themselves in full and that will define the budget.
“But in an ideal world, regardless of budgetary concerns, and having to wait for outgoings, Michael Olise is a priority target for Manchester United and, by all accounts, he would be very keen on joining as well.
“So there is serious and credible interest there. And he’s the target endorsed if you like by the old regime, and this new INEOS-led regime who now control the sporting side of things.”
Earlier, it was reported that Crystal Palace, who are in no rush to sell one of their best players, would demand at least £60m to part ways with their talismanic winger.
There are, however, some concerns over Olise’s fitness after he missed a sizeable chunk of last season through multiple injuries.
