Former Manchester United star John O’Shea believes the club should stick with Erik ten Hag as manager for next season.
O’Shea, currently the Republic of Ireland interim manager, won five Premier League titles as a United player – on top of a Champions League and FA Cup. He believes that United’s FA Cup triumph – Ten Hag’s second trophy in as many years – should give the manager more time in the hot seat.
United have yet to decide on Ten Hag’s future but an announcement is expected in the coming days.
O’Shea says he wants to see Ten Hag given another season at United.

Speaking to the Irish Mirror, O’Shea said: “It was a fantastic performance to get a win against City, as nobody gave them a chance.
“It was an amazing performance and great to see the younger academy boys doing the business with Garnacho and Mainoo getting the goals.
“As for Ten Hag, time will tell. I’m sure people will reflect on the season overall and that’s what he will be judged on.
“But I hope he’s given another season and more time, and see what happens from there.”
O’Shea added: “People will argue they need a new manager.
“There’s a new structure in place with the Sporting Director, Technical Director and CEO. It would point to them looking to get someone new in.
“But maybe a constant would be good – someone who knows everyone and the players in particular. He did himself no harm (winning the FA Cup).”
More updates on Ten Hag’s future when we have them.
