Manchester United are going through a tough spell, with Erik ten Hag’s men slipping to seventh place in the table after last weekend’s 2-2 draw at Bournemouth.

The Reds are far adrift of the Champions League places and the only hope of success is winning the FA Cup, with Coventry City standing in the way of back-to-back appearances in the final.

Andre Onana endured a painful start to the season but the Cameroon international has recovered in fine fashion and is now one of Ten Hag’s most consistent performers.

Onana’s performances were recognised last month when he was voted the club’s Player of the Month and now, the former Inter Milan star has previewed the trip to Wembley this weekend.

“It’s very exciting,” Onana is quoted as saying by the official Manchester United website when asked about the upcoming semi-final.

“But as I’ve always said: playing for this beautiful club, you must win. It’s a semi-final of course; we are going there to win.

“It’s a very good opponent and this game is going to be tough, but we are Manchester United so we must be there ready for them.”

United could face a repeat of last year’s final, with Manchester City and Chelsea going head-to-head for the other spot in the season’s final game.

Ten Hag will hope to have some of his star players back by then, with Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw among those to be sidelined with serious injuries.
