Former Manchester United striker Anthony Martial scored for AEK Athens on Wednesday night. A particularly meaningful goal for him and one that did him a world of good.

The former Monegasque found the net for the first time in almost a year by opening the score during his team’s match against Aris Salonika.

Martial still believes in a return to the selection

Martial seemed delighted with his goal and hopes it will give his career a boost. At 28, he appears to still have plenty of time ahead of him to flourish in European football. The one who has 30 appearances for the French team has not closed the door to a return to Blue either. His last international match was on September 7, 2021 against Finland.

Many United fans were delighted on social media to see their former player find the net. The striker left the club as a free agent in the summer after his contract was not renewed.
