Saturday Night Live has Joan Grande to thank for one of their funniest sketches this year!

Last month, Ariana Grande hosted the long-running sketch comedy series and during her episode, she took part in a hysterical family game night sketch in which she played a very competitive mother.

While appearing on Bowen Yang and Matt RogersLas Culturistas podcast, Ariana, 31, shared how her mom actually inspired the sketch.

Keep reading to find out more…Ariana explained that during Labor Day weekend, she and her family were playing a fiery game of charades when Joan‘s competitive side took over and she went after son Frankie Grande‘s husband Hale‘s brother.

“We’re playing charades and Hale’s brother, my brother-in-law’s brother… was like, ‘Haha, we’re winning’ vibes. That was the extent of it was he was like, ‘Woo-hoo! We’re ahead,’” Ariana recalled. “And my mom goes, ‘Tiny-dick syndrome, huh?’”

Ariana said she was so shocked by her mom’s comment that she said to her, “Mommy, wait. That’s not funny. I was like, ‘Mom, that’s intense and harmful. That’s so intense!’”

Luckily, everyone at the event found Joan‘s comment hilarious.

“We all were laughing, and, of course, [Hale's brother] laughed,” Ariana said. “But she was like, ‘Well, that’s a sign of what that is.’ And I was like, ‘Mommy! This is insane!’ And then I started doing it as a bit for Jesse, Hale’s other brother, and he was crying tears and it lasted the whole day. So I was like, ‘Bowen, we have to do something with this, please. It’s just so silly.’”

Bowen said that he was also stunned when he first heard about Joan‘s comment.

“My jaw dropped,” he said. “I was like, ‘Joan.’”

Ariana then noted that she comes from “aggressive game-playing family,” but said that she’s just there to have a good time.

“I’m an alien in my family a little bit, because I’m like… I don’t care,” she admitted. “I just wanna have fun and I wanna be there and I’m here for a good time.”

However, Joan and Frankie are both very competitive.

“Frankie can’t lose a game. Mommy can’t lose a game,” Ariana added. “They can’t lose a game. They don’t like it.”

Also during the podcast, Bowen apologized to Ariana over their kiss in that sketch!
