Women’s FC Barcelona has agreed to sell its Nigerian striker Asisat Oshoala to an American club. She is a six-time African Ballon d’Or winner!

Winner of the Champions League in 2021 and 2023 (and easily qualified for the quarter-finals of the current edition), women’s FC Barcelona suddenly loses its immense scorer. The Catalan club has agreed to sell Asisat Oshoala to Bay FC, a Californian team in the NWSL (the United States championship), for 150,000 euros.

Oshoala has been exceptional since arriving in Catalonia in January 2019. The former Arsenal player has exceeded 20 goals in her four full seasons with the Blaugrana, peaking at 28 goals in 30 matches in 2019-20. The six-time African Ballon d’Or had 8 goals in 14 matches this season.

Barça Femeni can notably count on English full-back Lucy Bronze, the reigning Ballon d’Or Aitana Bonmati and the prodigy Salma Paralluelo (already 16 goals this season).
