President of FC Barcelona between 2014 and 2020, Josep Maria Bartomeu has experienced several highlights in his mandate, both disappointments and joys. The Spanish businessman returned, during an interview given to Sporton his main regret during his stay.

“Presidents are not always right. Over time, I think I was wrong to fire Zubizarreta (sports director). If I could go back, I wouldn’t. It was a time of great tension. There was a major problem between Luis Enrique and the players and I had to make decisions: I fired the sporting director and the general manager., regretted Bartomeu. He also announced that he did not leave due to FIFA sanctions. As a reminder, Andoni Zubizarreta left the club in 2015, a year after Bartomeu took over as president.
