SPORT has reported that Barcelona are planning a big revolution at the club once Xavi departs.
The outlet claims that Deco will have a free hand in player transfers and at the moment, his idea is to raise around €200 million by player sales.
For that to be achieved, those who have been very important to the team could also be sold as there will be a revamp in the summer, with big signings in sight.
At this moment, there are only a handful of players who are considered untouchable by the management.
Deco’s monopoly?
As long as Xavi was at the helm, decisions within the sports management, overseen by Deco, were collaboratively made with the coaching staff.
Their focus was on maintaining locker room harmony, often advocating for certain players to prevent departures and minimize disruptions in the transfer market.
However, if SPORT is to be believed, a notable shift is imminent, as Deco will have unrestricted authority to make potentially difficult decisions.
Within Barcelona, there is a growing sense of belief that the current project has reached its saturation and there is a dire need for a revamp.

The restructuring is not only aimed at addressing on-field needs but also serves as a financial demand, as the club must sell certain players in order to create room for new signings and maintain financial viability.
Who could leave?
Players who don’t have contracts beyond the current season may be the first ones affected. Sergi Roberto and Marcos Alonso won’t continue.
Loaned players like Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo might stay if Barça can afford them.
To boost funds, high-value players like Raphinha might be sold. In return, Barça will aim to sign those players who can make a big difference.
They will also consider selling midfielders for big money. The defence, on the other hand, will see changes with a couple of centre-backs leaving, depending on players’ choices and offers received.
Big changes are coming in the next few months to improve the team’s performance. Xavi took the blame for the team’s struggles, and now players are on the line too. Deco has a tough task, and everyone needs to step up to revive the team.
