The month of May has seen reports on Barcelona’s upcoming summer transfer window grow exponentially.
The primary topic of discussion has been over the departures planned by the administration, and Inaki Pena has been widely mentioned on that front.
The young Spaniard was said to be in direct contact with Deco over an exit this summer amidst a lack of playing time after Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s return from injury. Jordi Cardero, however, reports a dramatic turnaround in the situation.
Pena set for a stay?
As revealed by the Spanish journalist, Xavi and Co. maintain Pena in their plans for next season. Deco has even met with the youngster’s agent and communicated that the club are not planning any big changes in goal.

The player, for his part, sails the same boat. The 25-year-old is comfortable in Catalonia and is not considering a departure from the club.
Only an irresistible offer for both parties, i.e. a proposal with a guarantee of minutes for a first-division club and a massive transfer fee, can now change the situation.
Ter Stegen’s future secure as well
Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has come under the radar in recent weeks as a player who the club could look to capitalise on in June.
After all, the captain is said to be on the radars of some clubs from Saudi Arabia, giving Barcelona an opportunity to reap big rewards from his exit.
Given their uncertain finances, Barcelona will not have the required margin to sign even a temporary replacement for the German international. His sale next month, thus, is impossible and all signs point to the same duo covering the goal next season.
Diego Kochen and Ander Astralaga, meanwhile, will continue fighting for the third goalkeeping spot in the senior team.
