With the summer transfer window four months away, speculations surrounding Barcelona and their plans are doing the rounds in great force.
Barça sporting director Deco is bracing himself for a busy period, as there is the task of identifying and appointing a new manager first while also planning for the changes in the squad according to the taste of the incoming head coach.
Obviously, the Financial Fair Play situation will once again dictate things in the summer and Barcelona are bracing themselves for some major sales in order to generate income and reduce their wage bill.
According to MARCA, while the departure of some notable players might be inevitable, Barcelona have 11 players in the squad who they consider as ‘untouchable’ and will not consider offloading them at any cost.
The list of ‘untouchables’ largely comprises the rising stars at the club who have become important players despite their young age.
Pedri, Gavi, Ronald Araujo, Alejandro Balde, and Ferran Torres are all seen as non-transferable by the Blaugrana along with academy graduates who have made a breakthrough recently in Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez, and Pau Cubarsi.
These players form the core of the future for Barcelona and it only makes sense for the Catalans to keep hold of them and continue to build a team around these stars.
Apart from these eight youngsters, Barcelona also regard veteran stars Robert Lewandowski, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and Ilkay Gundogan as untouchables as well.
The report further adds that Barça would also want Frenkie de Jong to continue at the club despite recent speculations about his future and wish for him to renew his contract. However, that decision will be up to the player.
