Big E doesn’t recognize the men Kofi Kingdom and Xavier Woods have become.

The former WWE Champion was unceremoniously kicked out of the New Day in December last year, during the group’s celebration of being together for a decade.

Their reasoning was that Big E had abandoned them following his potentially career-ending neck injury two years ago. The turn was completely unpredictable and made the group heels for the first time in years.

Speaking about The New Day in a clip on Twitter following Raw’s premiere on Netflix, Big E revealed that he didn’t recognize Woods and Kingston anymore.

He added that he though of them as brothers, but that they moved in different directions since his injury. Big E did say he was excited to see what they do next, though.

“These are not the two men that I stood side by side with for the past ten years. This version of those two, I don’t recognize. Sometimes, people are in your life for a season. I thought these would be my brothers for a long time coming. Clearly, we moved in different directions.” Big E said.

“I’m excited—or interested—to see what they do with their careers, because right now, it’s kind of… spinning in the same place.” added Big E.

Big E Says He Still Hasn’t Been Cleared For In-Ring Return

Big E says he has still not been cleared to compete.

He recently spoke on The Mike Broomhead Show, and when he was asked about his injury, he said that he still hadn’t been cleared. (H/t Jeremy Lambert of Fightful for the transcription)

“I broke my neck, two and a half years ago, in three places, including my C1 in two places. I still haven’t been cleared,” Big E said. “Thankfully, I feel great and don’t have any issues, nothing like that. Didn’t need surgery. I was in a hard collar for three months. There are very real risks. We had a suplex that went wrong and I’ve been out since. I’m grateful to have no issues, no pain, nothing like that,” he said.
