Manchester United have been dealt a transfer blow over a month in advance of the summer window opening.

The Red Devils must bolster numerous key positions ahead of the 2024/2025 campaign if they have any chance of being among the mix for next season’s accolades.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s arrival as co-owner has inflicted hope unto the Old Trafford faithful following the Glazers’ tumultuous 19-year reign, however, there is the expectation that he puts his money where his mouth is.

One player who’s found himself linked with an Old Trafford switch this term is standout Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, with speculation growing after reports that Ratcliffe wanted to implement a more homegrown signing policy with future arrivals.

As such, the Englishman has played an integral role at the heart of the Foxes’ resurgent Championship campaign that saw them promoted straight back to the top-flight at the earliest opportunity.

Dewsbury-Hall has scored 12 times and notched 15 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions, making it no surprise that he was just named Leicester’s Player of the Season, as well as Players’ Player of the Year, as voted for by his teammates.

Dewsbury-Hall rules out Foxes exit

During the awards ceremony, he took the chance to assure those in attendance that his future lies securely at the King Power Stadium, saying (via Owynn Palmer-Atkin): “I’ve been at this club since I was eight years old… I’ve got no intention of leaving.”

The matter may be out of his hands, though. MailSport reports that due to Leicester’s precarious financial situation, they may be forced to sell some of their most valuable assets before June 30 in order to create breathing room around PSR regulations.

Dewsbury-Hall has been tipped as the ‘most likely’ to depart due to him being an academy graduate; the club would generate pure profit from his sale.

Leicester were charged with breaching the PSR rules last season and are awaiting a potential points deduction when they officially return to the Premier League in the coming months.
