Talks advanced on Thursday over a move that will see the 49-year-old's contract run until 2026 after a poor run of form in recent months.

Palace have won just four games out of their last 18 Premier League matches to see them potentially involved in a relegation scrap.

Hodgson suffered a serious medical incident on Thursday morning in front of concerned players and coaches and needed to be taken to hospital.

It saw his press conference on Thursday afternoon cancelled where he was expected to field questions on his future as manager.
