Earthquake confirmed at OM!

While Olympique de Marseille is experiencing a new crisis at the start of the year, the future of Pablo Longoria seems to be written far from the Marseille city.

Olympique de Marseille is having a decidedly eventful season. Last September, the Ciel et Blanc were shaken by a first crisis after a series of bad results, a fiery meeting between leaders and supporters leading to the departure of Marcelino as well as several other leaders, frightened by the tension which reigned around OM.

Four months have passed and the Marseille club is going through a new storm. Consequence, once again, of the latest results recorded by Gennaro Gattuso’s troops, already eliminated from the Coupe de France and still looking for their first victory in Ligue 1 in 2024. Several crisis meetings took place elsewhere held at the start of the week, this time in calm.

However, OM must prepare for a new shock. For most observers, the departure of Pablo Longoria seems certain. After David Friio, Matthieu Louis-Jean, Javier Ribalta and Pedro Iriondo, who have all left the ship in recent weeks, it would indeed be the turn of the Marseille president to want to leave.

A departure and the sale?

He had already been very close to slamming the door in September after the incidents with the supporters, but if he allowed himself to be convinced by Frank McCourt to continue the adventure, his decision this time seems inexorable even if he would probably have to wait the end of the season to make it effective.

This departure would be in the order of things according to Thibaud Vézirian, convinced that it is the prelude to the sale of Olympique de Marseille. “ Iriondo had told relatives privately that he would finish his tasks and leave by the end of January; that’s absolutely what happened, so there’s no surprise there. Now we are told that the next one is Longoria. Given what happened in September, everyone knows that the Longoria era is coming to an end. He has already stayed much longer than expected in the position of president and everything suggests that what happens next is of course a formalization of the sale of Olympique de Marseille and nothing else. he explained in a video.
