Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier has joined Bayern Munich in the January transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Italian journalist has reported on X that Dier, who can also operate as a midfielder, is moving to Bundesliga champions Bayern for a transfer fee close to €4 million.

Romano has reported on X that Dier will undergo a medical with Bayern today before completing his move to the German club. The 29-year-old is out of contract at Tottenham at the end of the season and has failed to play regularly for the North London club this season.

Bayern are second in the Bundesliga table at the moment with 38 points from 15 matches, four points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen. Meanwhile, Tottenham currently find themselves fifth in the Premier League table with 39 points from 20 matches, six points behind leaders Liverpool.
