Manchester United will hope to shake things up this summer with new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe in the driving seat for his first transfer window in charge of sporting operations at Old Trafford.
The new era could mean lots of new faces as well as departures.
Tottenham are also hoping for a better future after starting a new era under Ange Postecoglou this season. It’s the beginning of a new journey, while some outlets believe Erik ten Hag’s job is far from safe at United.
The aim for Ten Hag is not just to win the Premier League. I’d argue the ultimate objective is securing Champions League qualification for next season, and we must overtake Tottenham in the league table to achieve that.
Then, in the summer, it will be a matter of trying to get our recruitment right.
Former Tottenham scout Bryan King believes Gugliemo Vicario could be the missing piece of the jigsaw for the Reds, although I think he is forgetting that we already have a top keeper in Andre Onana, who has improved in recent months.
“From United’s perspective, I think they should go out and sign Vicario. If they want to spend money, then spend money on players who are proven in the Premier League,” he said to Tottenham News.
“Vicario would be tempted by a move to Old Trafford, without a doubt.”
This is not a transfer I can see happening this summer. Tottenham will want to keep Vicario, and I doubt he wants to play second fiddle to Onana next season.
