Mason Greenwood’s loan deal at Getafe is approaching its expiry date.

Getafe manager Jose Bordalas has suggested that he’d like to sign Greenwood permanently – but is fully aware Manchester United hold the keys to the forward’s future.

Greenwood, 22, was shipped out to Getafe by United last summer following a decision for him to continue his career away from Old Trafford.

His move to Madrid has been a success and there’s plenty of reason for Getafe to launch a pursuit to keep the forward. With six goals and five assists in 24 La Liga appearances, it is thought that Greenwood has admirers up and down the Spanish top flight.

Getafe boss Bordalas appears to be keen.

“In the end his club decides and also the boy’s intentions regarding his future count,” Bordalas told reporters, as quoted by The Mirror. “But I can say we are happy with his behaviour and his performance.”

Furthermore, recent reports suggest Juventus may be interested in signing Greenwood.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe kept his cards close to his chest when asked about Greenwood’s future. The club’s new co-owner promised that a fresh decision would be made on the matter.

Let us know in the comments section where you think Greenwood will be playing his football next season.
