Welcome back! Injuries are some of the worst things in all of wrestling as they can put anyone on the shelf out of nowhere. You never know when you might see someone get hurt and that can result in changes taking place rather quickly. The silver lining though is they can result in wrestlers coming back for a special moment down the line. That was the case this week.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Surprise Heel Turn Takes Place On NXT Following Grudge Match
This week’s NXT featured Oba Femi defeating Ivar to retain the NXT North American Title. Following the match, Wes Lee made a surprise return and had a staredown with Femi. Later in the show, Lee got into a backstage confrontation with Josh Briggs, resulting in a match being made between them next week. This was Lee’s first appearance since December as he was recovering from a back injury. Initial reports had said Lee would be out of action from eight to twelve months.

Opinion: It’s great to see Lee back, especially that much sooner than expected. Lee is one of the more talented stars in NXT and his time with the North American Title was quite impressive. It should be interesting to see how fast he can pick up where he left off, as it wouldn’t surprise me to see him moving into the NXT Title picture sooner than later, as he is certainly good enough to be at that level.
