With the international break coming to an end, Barcelona are set to resume their campaign this weekend as they take on Las Palmas, in a crucial league game.

The real focus, though, will be on the April 10 encounter against Paris Saint-Germain, in what will be the first of the two-legged quarterfinal tie between these two giants.

As Barcelona approach the game, the club are banking on the return of two of its star players Frenkie de Jong and Pedri.

De Jong likely to return vs PSG

Spanish journalist Toni Juanmarti has offered a crucial update on the fitness of these two Barcelona stars.

As far as Frenkie is concerned, the Dutchman looks likely to make the trip to Paris at the start of next month.

The midfielder is recovering well and is on track to make his return to the pitch before the April 10 encounter. He may even start the game against PSG, in what could serve as a major boost for the Catalans.

Will Pedri recover in time?

Things are a bit more dicey when it comes to the fitness of Pedri. The youngster had suffered a more serious blow than De Jong and has had a more unfortunate fitness record in recent years.

Barcelona doctors, therefore, are likely to proceed with caution. There are positive signs though as he started doing some individual training on the field today.

The Spanish international still has two weeks to recover from his injury, which the journalist believes should be enough for Pedri.

Even if the midfield gem recovers from his injury, the likelihood of him starting against PSG remains low, at least in the first leg.

A lot could depend on how quickly the 2021 Golden Boy can come back from his injury. The next few weeks, therefore, could indeed be critical, not only for Pedri but for de Jong as well.
