Right when Barcelona thought they were finally recovering some of their key players during the final stretch of the season, their injury list has kept growing.

Ahead of the clash against Granada tomorrow, Barcelona have welcomed back Marc-Andre ter Stegen from his back injury. The German has been on the sidelines since November, and even underwent surgery to treat his troubles.

Raphinha, meanwhile, picked up a muscle injury in his leg during the game against Osasuna in the Spanish Super Cup semi-finals in January. He is likely to start on the bench tomorrow after making a full recovery.

However, now that these two players are back, Barcelona are missing Joao Felix and Ferran Torres, both of whom have picked up month-long injuries across the last fortnight.

Oriol Romeu was added to the list today, and while not as crucial as the other names mentioned in the list, the midfielder is important especially right now with the squad running low on depth.

The Spaniard missed training today with an ankle discomfort, and will miss the game against Granada.

SPORT have now released an update on his situation, confirming that Romeu is expected to be back in the side for the game against Celta Vigo.

He has been dealing with this discomfort for quite a while now, but did not want to alienate the team during this turbulent time of multiple injuries. He continued until his body allowed before finally missing training today.

Romeu was a regular in the side for Xavi when the season started, but the decline in his performances prompted the coach to bench him, preferring the services of Frenkie de Jong and Ilkay Gundogan as the defensive midfielders.

Andreas Christensen has also played there as recently against Deportivo Alaves, and is expected to retain his spot tomorrow against Granada, too.

Romeu, meanwhile, is nearing an exit from Barcelona. He was linked with a move to Besiktas in the winter, but the transfer collapsed after his wife asked him to reject it due to terrorist attacks in the city last year.

That said, it is becoming increasingly clear that the 32-year-old will not continue at the club beyond this summer as Barcelona hope to finally land a long-term solution to Sergio Busquets’ throne.
