His mission was great upon his free arrival from Borussia Mönchengladbach. In an Inter Milan attack without Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Thuram had to have a great season alongside Lautaro Martinez. Almost a year later, the contract is largely fulfilled for the French international (18 caps, 2 goals). Author of a formidable first season with the Nerazzurri, the 26-year-old striker was a major player in the 20th Serie A championship title for the Lombard club with twelve goals and eleven goals in the league.

Just yesterday, during the Madonnina derby against AC Milan (1-2), the former EA Guingamp was dominant. It’s simple, it was he who scored his team’s second goal in the 49th minute. And with the reduction of Fikayo Tomori’s gap at the end of the match, the Frenchman’s achievement is synonymous with victory and the title in the championship. A moment which will surely remain engraved throughout his career and which Marcus Thuram celebrated well. Initially provoking the AC Milan fans, the native of Parma then gave several interviews in which he had a lot to say.

Marcus Thuram thanks Thierry Henry

Winning the first big trophy of his career at the age of 26, Thuram savored the moment and did not hide his immense joy at first: “it was a crazy match to experience something crazy. We wanted to win this match for our fans and we achieved it, it’s my first championship title, I’m very proud of it.” Accompanied by his father who was in the stands, “Tikus” took off his jersey to celebrate in a San Siro stadium which was cut in two, between supporters of the two Milanese clubs, following the Nerazzurri celebrations.

Still in the euphoria of one of the first celebratory evenings of his career, the 1m92 striker came to his senses to send a nice message to Thierry Henry: “I would like to thank Thierry Henry. If he watches this video, I thank him for all the advice he has given me since the beginning of my career. He’s the uncle who is there for me in good times and bad, he always tells me the truth and today I want to take the time to thank him. If I am here, it is also thanks to him.» Irreproachable on the field yesterday as throughout his first season with the Interists, Marcus Thuram also took advantage of this evening of celebration which will remain etched in stone for him and his career.
