Jadon Sancho will officially be a Manchester United player again this summer after his loan spell with Borussia Dortmund expires.
Currently, the winger is gearing up for this Saturday’s mouthwatering Champions League final tie between Dortmund and 14-time winners Real Madrid.
However, there’s no doubt that Sancho would have been keeping tabs on how his parent club fared over the weekend as they locked horns with Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
The Red Devils fought their way to a hard-earned and deserved 2-1 victory against the previous holders of the trophy, reigning victorious in the competition for the first time since 2016.
Sancho won’t be receiving a medal from the triumph, unlike fellow loanees Facundo Pellistri and Hannibal Mejbri, as he didn’t feature in this season’s FA Cup campaign before his January departure.
It also remains to be seen where his future lies beyond this summer, as there was no buy option included in his terms. Reports have suggested that he would prefer to stay at Dortmund – meaning a transfer agreement would need to be hashed out between both teams – or play for United again under a different manager.
Sancho’s support for Rashford
Nevertheless, he was quick to send a message of support to his attacking counterpart after the game. Marcus Rashford shared a picture of himself in tears following the full-time whistle, having claimed another piece of silverware with his boyhood club to round off a difficult season for the forward.
Rashford captioned the post: “People want to know what Man United means to me!”, to which Sancho replied: “Love you brother”.
