Following Kazuchika Okada’s debut on the March 6 episode of AEW Dynamite, an update has emerged regarding former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega’s potential return.
During the episode, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson, known as The Young Bucks, announced Kenny Omega’s termination from The Elite faction. As tensions escalated with Eddie Kingston’s interruption, Okada made his impactful debut, initially appearing to come to Kingston’s aid. However, Okada shocked the audience by delivering his signature Rainmaker move to Kingston, solidifying his alignment with The Elite and confirming his heel turn.
Fightful Select provided insights into Omega’s situation, indicating that there’s currently no set timeline for his comeback despite the tease on Dynamite. The angle on AEW Dynamite aimed to introduce Okada, bolster The Elite’s ranks, and lay the groundwork for Omega’s eventual return.
Kenny Omega has been sidelined since December 2023 due to complications from diverticulitis, a battle that nearly claimed his life. As fans eagerly anticipate his return, the ongoing developments in AEW’s storyline continue to intrigue audiences worldwide.
On a related note, Tony Khan spoke with Sportsgrid last month, and stated that Omega is doing better right but he was in serious trouble, before being thankful that doctors discovered his condition before things took a turn for the worse.
“Kenny is doing better but he was seriously sick and his life could have been threatened had he not gotten to the doctors when he did. He was really sick. Thankfully he’s doing much better, we all wish him the best and look forward to seeing him again when he’s healthy.”
As AEW’s storyline unfolds with Kazuchika Okada’s debut and Kenny Omega’s potential return, fans are on the edge of their seats. With each twist and turn, AEW continues to captivate wrestling fans worldwide, eagerly awaiting Omega’s return to the ring.
