Real Madrid are the odds on favourites to sign Kylian Mbappe after the forward informed PSG of his desire to leave Paris at the end of the season.

News of the Frenchman's impending departure broke yesterday, though the move has be hinted at for a while now, and the odds of a move to the Spanish capital are now as low as 2/7 with talkSPORT BET's transfer odds.

This week's news of Mbappe confirming his intentions to leave won't have come as a surprise to many, and leaves several of the world's top clubs scrambling to put offers on the table to sign who many regard as the world's best player at the moment.

The French World Cup winner has been linked with a move away from PSG for a few transfer windows now, and Real Madrid has long been thought of as the natural destination for the forward.

The 25-year-old is into his seventh season at PSG where he's scored a staggering 243 goals and picking up 105 assists in his 290 matches for the Parisians.

The forward has just four months remaining on his two year deal that he signed back in 2022, and the former Monaco star stated last summer that he would not extend the deal further, despite having the option of a further year.

PSG appear to be consigned to losing Mbappe on a free transfer this summer, with any chance of selling the forward for a fee vanished following the January transfer window.

Real Madrid appear to be the most likely destination for the Frenchman following the departure of their long serving striker Karim Benzema to Saudi Arabia last summer, and are currently in the market to find a capable long-term replacement.

33-year-old Joselu, who is on loan from Espanyol is currently Los Blancos' only recognised striker. The Spaniard turns 34 in March and has scored seven goals in 24 league games this season for Madrid.

Mbappe has won every domestic trophy available to him in France on multiple occasions but is still yet to earn himself a Champions League winners' medal, something that may be with in reach should he move to Madrid and join the competition's most successful club.

Rumours broke last summer of Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal bidding a world record fee of £259million in a bid acquire the services of arguably the best player in the world.

Several world class big names have followed in Cristiano Ronaldo's footsteps this summer in joining the Middle Eastern league, with teams offering eyewatering contracts to their new recruits.

N'Golo Kante, Sadio Mane and the aforementioned Benzema and Neymar are just some of several huge names to have made the move to the Gulf nation in recent months, and Mbappe could be next, though those odds are slightly longer at 16/1.

The chances of a move for the Frenchman to Serie A in Italy also stand at 16/1, according to talkSPORT BET.

European heavyweights Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also in the conversation of a potential move for the World Cup winner, priced at 20/1 and 25/1 respectively, while the Premier League's entire 'Big Six' are also in the market at either 25/1 or 33/1.
