Virgil van Dijk is one of Liverpool’s most experienced players after playing a huge part in Jurgen Klopp’s domination period during which they enjoyed one Premier League title in nine years.

Liverpool fans will tell you he is the greatest defender to grace the Premier League, and you shouldn’t need me to tell you that’s a complete exaggeration because they milk anything they can get their hands on.

Just look at the Klopp farewell tour. *Vomits*

Anyhow, Van Dijk has done an interview with Pro Direct Soccer with the season coming to an end. He will be heading to the Euros later this summer but there was still time for a rather cheeky question.

Van Dijk was asked about signing for two of Liverpool’s fiercest rivals: Manchester United or Everton? It’s a tricky question, almost like asking one of us if we’d like to play for Liverpool or Man City.

Unsurprisingly the Netherlands defender refused to answer the question, meaning the headline-hungry YouTuber Angry Ginge was unsuccessful in pushing Van Dijk towards an unpopular answer.

“I’ve got a question for you, would you rather play for Everton or Manchester United?” Van Dijk was asked.

He responded with laughter, saying: “I’m not even going to answer that question because it would never happen.”

The ship sailed for Van Dijk to play for United when he joined Liverpool from Southampton in 2018, but it is believed that Jose Mourinho wanted him during his time in the Old Trafford hot seat.
