Eager to obtain a significant salary increase, Mike Maignan could leave AC Milan next summer. The French doorman has no shortage of requests.

Transferred to AC Milan in the summer of 2021 from Lille for just over 15 million euros, Mike Maignan has become one of the very best goalkeepers in the world in Lombardy. He thus logically took over from Hugo Lloris as number one in the cage of the French team. A new status which calls for remuneration accordingly…

According to Calciomercato, the Rossoneri have reportedly started discussions with the representatives of the French goalkeeper with a view to a contract extension of two additional years, i.e. until June 2028, with a salary increase at stake. Currently, the former PSG and Lille earns 2.8 million euros net per year. In the future, he would like to be paid at the level of the other headliners of the Milan club, like Rafael Leao, who receives 7 million euros per year.

Bayern and Chelsea on the spot

Yes, but for the moment, the Lombard leaders would offer 5 million euros per year to the 28-year-old goalkeeper, plus bonuses linked to individual and team results. A sum which is close to the player’s salary expectations, but still insufficient. Therefore, still according to the transalpine media, a departure from Maignan this summer would not be ruled out. Bayern Munich and Chelsea have already expressed their interest.
