Kobbie Mainoo’s rise to prominence has been breathtaking. The 18-year-old is now a Manchester United regular and has been called up to the senior England squad for the first time.

In turn, the young midfielder has been ranked as the seventh-best wonderkid in world football, as per GOAL.

The publication recently published their annual NXGN list which highlights 50 of the most incredible talents to have been born after January 1, 2005.

Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal, 16, was named the best wonderkid in the world. The top four was round-up by Endrick (Palmeiras), Warren Zaire-Emery (PSG) and Mathys Tel (Bayern Munich).

The academy graduate has earned praise from his teammates, the media and supporters for his impressive displays this season. There have been times when he has stood out head and shoulders above some of his more experienced teammates.

Mainoo has made 22 appearances across all competitions so far this season. He won United’s POTM award in January and claimed the Premier League’s GOTM accolade in February.

It is clear to see that Erik ten Hag has another gem on his hands, along with Alejandro Garnacho.
