Manchester United are reportedly keen to re-sign Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon.

Reguilon was signed right at the very end of the summer transfer window as emergency cover for Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. He left in January when the club decided to cut short his temporary contract.

That is why we are shocked to hear of reports suggesting United are interested in bringing Reguilon back to Old Trafford.

Especially when he didn’t pull up any trees at United.

However, Spanish publication AS claims United have joined West Ham in ‘expressing interest’ in the Spaniard.

United weren’t interested enough to keep Reguilon for the second half of the season, which led to him being loaned back out by Tottenham to fellow Premier League outfit Brentford.

Reguilon made just 12 appearances during his time at United.

If United are looking for a cheaper option at left-back, why not go for a younger option with the potential to become a better player than Reguilon?

Most fans will agree that Reguilon was a stop-gap option. There’s no point going back there.

Luke Shaw’s track record with injuries doesn’t fill me with much confidence, and United require a better back-up option than Reguilon if we are going to rely on the England international next season.
