Manchester United youngster Joe Hugill joined Burton Albion on loan last week and the youngster has wasted no time by making an impact in his debut for the League One club.
Since it’s his first loan spell, Hugill is getting a taste of what the Football League is like, at a side struggling in the third tier of English football.
Hugill was named on the bench on Monday night as Burton travelled to face Derby County. The striker was brought on in the 62nd minute with his new team losing 2-1.
Three minutes after coming on, Hugill drew Burton level in the 65th minute after breaking the offside trap to bear down on goal. The striker kept his composure in front of goal to get the start he would have dreamed of.

Derby went on to score a winning goal in stoppage time to clinch three points, so Burton have nothing to show for after Hugill’s dream debut.
Well, a dream debut on an individual note at least.
A strong loan spell for Burton could help Hugill get more opportunities at United in 2024/25. There’s a shortage of strikers at United, though we do expect to see that addressed in the summer transfer window.
