Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek is on the verge of joining La Liga outfit Girona.
Van de Beek joined United in a £35 million deal in September 2020 but he will now join Girona – a Spanish club part of the City Group umbrella.
The Dutchman failed to settle in his four years at Old Trafford, making 62 appearances for the club, and during that time he had underwhelming loan spells at Everton and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Van de Beek scored two goals and registered as many assists during his time at United.
According to BBC Sport, Girona will pay a minimal initial fee, with further add-ons that could total £16.9m in the unlikely event they are all met.
United will also come away from the deal with the promise of a large sell-on clause.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano adds that a deal is agreed between United and Girona – but the player still needs to agree personal terms with the Spanish outfit.

Girona finished third in La Liga last season, behind Barcelona and Real Madrid, which means Van de Beek will be playing in the Champions League next season.
