Matteo Lane Joins Hulu’s Stand-Up Roster

Hulu is continuing its push into stand-up comedy with Matteo Lane becoming the latest funnyman to launch a special on the streamer.

Lane will film his next special on October 24 at at Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica and it will air later on the platform.

He joins the likes of Jim Gaffigan, Bill Burr, Ilana Glazer, Roy Wood Jr., Atsuko Okatsuka, Jessica Kirson, and Chris Distefano as part of the company’s “Hularious” comedy brand.

Lane said, “I am thrilled to be part of the Disney Hulu family. This is the closest I’ll get to becoming the 5th Golden Girl.”

Lane has made his name with viral clips from his stand-up shows online including Hair Plugs & Heartache and The Advice Special recording millions of views. He was also part of Netflix’s all queer stand-up special Outstanding: A Comedy Revolution..

He appears in the Amazon film Upgraded, Netflix series Survival of the Thickest and Molli & Max in the Future, which premiered at SXSW. His Can’t Stop Talking Tour launched earlier this summer and runs through next year.

As part of Hulu’s comedy strategy, it is also launching a number of licensed specials from the likes of 800 Pound Gorilla, Comedy Dynamics, and Don’t Tell Comedy.
