Kylian Mbappé spoke about the Olympic meeting next summer, ensuring that he will not put pressure to compete in the Games despite his desire to be there.

The summer could be particularly eventful for Kylian Mbappé. First of all obviously because it could mark the end of his adventure in the capital. His contract with PSG will end at the end of the season and many imagine him turning his back on the Parisian club to join Real Madrid, free. But if the summer of the Bondynois will be busy, it is also because of the deadlines which await the French team.

Eighteen months after their World Cup final lost to Argentina, Didier Deschamps’ Blues hope to erase this painful memory at the Euro, of which they will be one of the main favorites. And three years after their failure in the round of 16 of the previous Euro, Didier Deschamps’ men have revenge to take. But Kylian Mbappé could be concerned by another big event: the Olympic Games which will take place in Paris

If the Olympic Tournament is reserved for players under 23, each team can include three elements who have exceeded the age limit. Like Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappé has already applied and Thierry Henry, the coach of the hopefuls, like Didier Deschamps would welcome his presence in Paris. PSG or its new team must still agree, the clubs having no obligation to release their players for the Games.

And Kylian Mbappé assures him: he will not put pressure to participate in the Olympics, even if it constitutes a dream. “I have reached a point in my life and career where I no longer want to force things. If they let me do them, I would go with great pleasure but if it is not possible, I would understand. For any athlete, the Olympics have a special place and I already wanted to go to Tokyo because I want to win everything and write my name in the history of the French team as that of a player who counted“, he confided during an interview with GQ.
