A scintillating performance from a Crystal Palace side inspired by the magical feet of Michael Olise delivered one of the most devastating blows of Erik ten Hag’s tenure.
It was like Watford all over again (reference to the defeat that cost Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his job at Old Trafford), but the headlines were grabbed by United transfer target Olise.
With all things considered, it was a terrific audition as the 22-year-old winger sparkled in front of Jason Wilcox and Jean-Claude Blanc in the stands. Olise helped inspire Palace’s first-ever league double over United on a memorable night for their fans. It’s not often they see their side beat United 4-0.
Fabrizio Romano recently reported that United remain one of the several clubs in the race for Olise, with the player’s release clause this summer understood to be in the region of £60m.

The Palace winger keep possession well throughout the game and managed an impressive pass success rate of 97%. That may have something to do with United’s lack of urgency off the ball, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka couldn’t get close to Olise.
He also completed 5 dribbles, had 5 shots and scored two goals.
Ten Hag will make it through to the end of the season but faces a mammoth task to lift his players after this chastening defeat.
