MJF opens up about his decision to re-sign with All Elite Wrestling heading into next weekend’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
All Elite Wrestling‘s MJF recently appeared on FOX 5 New York. When asked about his decision to re-sign with AEW when there was reported interest from WWE, Friedman answered like only he can.
“Look, it was a very easy decision for me, mainly because Tony Khan is paying me an exorbitant amount of money,” MJF said. “But outside of that, I also believe in AEW. I believe that it’s where the best wrestle. I believe that we have some of the most top-tier elite talent you get to see in the world today.”
When asked what it meant to him to recently be inducted into the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, MJF said it means everything to him.
“It means everything,” MJF said. “Look, right now, it’s an interesting time to be a jew. So right now, I think it’s really important to be able to look straight, dead on into a camera and say, I’m a jew, and I’m proud.
“And I’m proud to be a jew from Long Island, and I’m proud of the fact that I came up here, and I had to bust my tuchus to make it to the top and become the longest reigning AEW World Champion of all time. That doesn’t happen by accident. And that’s because of the culture here.”
